The Center for Liver Disease and Transplantation (CLDT) at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center is addressing the organ shortage crisis in the US through innovative methods, making it easier for both children and adults to receive liver transplants. Their approach results in more options, shorter wait times, and outcomes that either meet or exceed national and regional standards. They offer comprehensive services for individuals at all stages of liver disease, including diagnostic testing, medical treatment, surgery, transplantation, and support. The center's surgeons excel at performing liver transplants even in complex cases involving conditions like hepatitis C, HIV, fatty liver disease, and bile duct and liver cancers.
