The Columbia Breast Cancer Reconstructive Surgery Program is dedicated to empowering individuals who have undergone breast cancer surgery to help them reclaim their physical and emotional well-being. The program brings together cancer experts and reconstructive plastic surgeons to provide compassionate and personalized post-lumpectomy or post-mastectomy reconstruction.

Benign Breast Disease Care

Benign (non-cancerous) breast disease often shares symptoms with breast cancer. Working with a program with experience diagnosing and treating these conditions can provide peace of mind and help relieve your symptoms. The Benign Breast Disease Program at Columbia can help manage and treat your benign breast condition, often without surgery. And if a minor procedure is necessary, we offer the latest minimally invasive options.

Breast Cancer Screening

We partner with Columbia Radiology’s Breast Cancer Screening Program to find cancers before they cause symptoms. Early detection of breast cancer has been shown to lead to better outcomes and easier treatment. Columbia Radiology performs and interprets more than 40,000 breast exams and procedures every year using the most advanced imaging technologies available, including tomosynthesis, contrast-enhanced mammography, breast ultrasound, and MRI.

Genetic Counseling

We offer genetic counseling and testing for BRCA1, BRCA2 and other cancer genes which predispose women to breast and ovarian cancers. For more information on Genetic Counseling and Testing, please call (212) 305-5098.

Research and Clinical Trials

Our physician-scientists have been at the forefront of developing new treatments for all forms of breast cancer and the discoveries made here are readily available for our patients.
